General Announcements

EMMAUS GATHERING ST.LUKE'S UMC LAKE WORTH

When: Sat, Jun 7, 6pm – 9pm
Where:165 ohio Road, Lake Worth, Florid (map) Emmaus Community Covered Dish Dinner.

Bring a dish to share. Bring a guest/s who may be interested in the Walk to Emmaus. Great Music and personal testimonials.Don't forget your name tag.If you need nursery care please call the church at
561-965-3043. No charge but we will need to know how many will need the nursery.Kids can eat with you and then go to the nursery.

Scholarship Fund

A SCHOLARSHIP FUND has been established. Please mail your tax exempt donation to SEFL EMMAUS and mail to: JESSICA CHURCH, 2073 SW Burlington Street, Port St. Lucie, FL 33484. You can also drop it off at the Gatherings, Sendoff, or Candlelight.

Help Needed in Kitchen

Remember there is always help needed in the kitchen for all the Walks. Contact judyettito@bellsouth.net

Increased Cost of Weekends

Due to cost increases for food, lodging, supplies,etc:All emmaus walks have been increased to $150.00 per person. Effective now.

Please bring to send-off or give to your church Rep:
• Water in 5 gal jugs & 1 liter bottles
• Soda in 2 liter bottles
• Brownies, cookies, hard candy, chocolate candy

Send-Off Information

Send-Off for weekends will be held at Dunklin Memorial Camp at the old Dining Hall (first building on the right when you turn on to Hosannah Lane). Food will no longer be provided at Send-Off, so please be sure to eat, and make sure that your candidates have had dinner as no food will be served until breakfast on Friday morning. To allow time for dinner, time for send-off has been pushed back to 7:30 p.m.

Training

Southeast Florida Emmaus will be scheduling training classes in 2008. Please watch for the announcements of dates. Training Seminar for: TBA

This meeting will give you the entire structure of a Walk and how it works! Everyone who has completed a Walk is welcome to attend. This meeting is a great help when you work on teams and is required if you are interested in leadership positions. All material is provided. Continental breakfast and drinks provided. Please bring your own lunch, drinks will be available. If you are interested in attending, please contact Teri Moreland, SEFE Board Secretary.

Chrysalis Announcements

Committee Positions Available

Your Chrysalis Committee (we are a sub-committee of Southeast Florida Emmaus Inc.) is presently seeking names of individuals who are interested in serving on our committee in five positions; Registrar, Kitchen, Snacks, Treasurer, & Secretary.

The job description for Registrar: 1. Keeping track of candidate & sponsor applications for each weekend. 2. Attending send-off for each weekend and checking in the candidates. 3. Be familiar with the Excel Computer Program.

The job description for the Kitchen Coordinator: 1. Shop for food prior to each weekend. 2. Prepare and cook a total of 7 meals on each weekend. 3. Keep inventory of food & cooking utensils.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THERE ARE MANY VOLUNTEERS THAT ASSIST FROM THE TEAM AND FROM THE COMMUNITY.

The job description for the Snack Coordinator: Contact Church Representatives before each weekend asking for snack agape including drinks, sweets, fruit, chips, crackers, etc.

The job description for Secretary: 1. Take & distribute minutes of each board meeting. 2. Keep records of the prior minutes. 3. Keep track of the registration & title of the shower trailer and utility trailer.

The job description for Treasurer: 1. Keep record of income and expenses. 2. Issue a bi-monthly report to the committee.
